This is my Writing for my theme in the 1950's and 60s.It is about punishments in the 1950's and 60's and then the punishments now.

What came before punishments in the 1950’s
By Harrison and Isla

In the oldindays year 1&2 had the wooden ruler, year 3&4 had a strap year 5&6&7&8 would get the cane. You would get in detention if you wasn’t wearing your hat. You wasn’t aloud to work in buddy's because you wasn’t aloud to talk. without putting your hand up.

Punishment now is nicer.  It has no weapons. Now there are punishments like detention or in primary school there is just staying in at lunch or morning tea and doing the work you didn’t want to do when you got told off.  There’s also going to the a teachers class or to the principal. Teachers and principles also call your parents if you’ve been very naughty. Sometimes the teachers can get annoyed and can raise their voice.

If a child even slouched in their chair or if their desk was messy they would have to put their hand out and whack it with the cane.Or if a child talked without putting their hand up they would get whacked. If a child didn’t do what they were told  or choose not to do any work then they would most likely get yelled at or get growled at.If you were naughty on your device though or doing something you weren’t supposed on your device you would most likely go to another classroom or even the principle. If a child punch someone or kicked someone or hurt someone their parents would be called.

In conclusion punishments are a whole lot nicer.Teachers aren't as strict anymore and ways to get told off is a little bit harder.

This is my What came before slide that I worked on with Kwyn.

It's about uniforms that girls boys and teachers used to wear.
