Hello and welcome to the second to last blog of this term. This week there has been quite a bit happening such as -We won free pizza from the PTA, we had a welcoming ceremony today and there was a sausage sizzle on Wednesday.
The food topics
This week Room 5 won a pizza party from the PTA. We won it because we returned all the money for the spelling bee first. On Wednesday there was a sausage sizzle. The sausages were delicious and since the Hillary Hub were away doing something room 5 had to put the sausages in the baskets and give them to the classes.
Whats been going on in the school
Today we had a welcome ceremony to welcome all the new people in our school. We all lined up outside and sang E te Ariki then we all went inside the hall and did some prayers. After that we had a really long morning tea. We also had a spelling bee a couple of weeks ago. It was good and I got all my words right.
Whats been going on in the Batten team
In the Batten team we have been doing financial literacy. My group is doing Ice-cream and smoothies. The ice-cream flavours are crunchie bar (hokey pokey) and strawberry. For the smoothies flavours it is going to be a DIY type of thing, where you get a list and you write down what fruits you want and whether or not you want juice, milk or yogurt (you can have the all). We also had community time and I was on with Emila and Katelyn. Community time is where the Batten team comes together in a classroom and the people who are on do the slide. There is a prayer a song and time for the teachers to talk.
Whats been going on in room 5
In room 5 we have had R.E. It has been about the holy spirit and the different symbol and what they mean. We have been doing a slide about oil. I never knew that oil was a symbol of the Holy Spirit until now. We have also been doing this new game about science and the earth. You can win cool prizes for your class so room 5 spent some time playing the game and getting points.
Thank you for reading. Come back next week when it's finally the last week of term.
